Museum Trip (Ashley)
Last Friday we left to go to the interesting Canterbury museum at 9.00 am on the bus. There were six people in my team including my mum, Caelan, John, Zoe, Libby and me.
First we put our bags in the locker. Next we went to explore the museum and saw the old street, the Antarctic room, and exploring room. I liked the rain exhibit where you go into a half tube and listen to a storm. After that, we went out side to have lunch and play.
Later we had a challenge to take 20 pictures of kiwiana.
It was a cloudy day but we had a lot of fun and I hope we can do it again.

Scotts Base Postcard
Dear Mr.T
I am writing this postcard to you from Scott Base in freezing Antartica. I have been here since the first day of spring with a team of scientists. So far the weather has been freezing and we've had a lot of blizzards too. The best thing about being at Scott base is all the cogs, chains, old buildings and machines. On the other hand, I hope my hands don't freeze while I'm writing to you!
Are you having a great holiday too?
Best wishes,
Ashley

My Friend Bruce
My friend Bruce is a mechanical creature.
He has a big spanner and a vintage steam car that we drive down the road.
He wears light blue overalls which are sometimes covered in oil, and when he's not wearing those he wears dark blue shorts and a black and white checkered top.
Bruce is always talking to my dad about his Austin Heally sports car. He gives me a chocolate fish as a present sometimes.
He's a great person to know because when I'm looking for bits and bobs he can always help me.

Ashley's Trip to Akaroa
On Friday my family and I went to Akaroa, we packed everything we would need for the next 4 days.
During the trip there my brother, Ehren, spilt hot chocolate all over me.
When we arrived we unpacked and went straight to the wharf to fish, we
saw a feeding frenzy of fish then after 20 minutes we saw a 6 foot manta ray. Eventually we got bored and headed home to play cluedo and see if dad had turned up.
The next day the whole family went fishing and I caught a blue cod. It's size was 25 cm long. Eventually after 1 hour fishing the next day in wet miserable rain my dad caught an Akaroa blue cod, it's size was 10 cm long. Eventually the rain cleared up, so after lunch, we all went to the beach to build sandcastles but the water had petrolium in it so we couldn't make pool's or moats for the sandcastles so we built sandcastles with no pool's or moats and played beach cricket as well.
The next day it was time to go home.
