Museum trip (Mya)

Last Friday we went on an exciting trip to the Canterbury museum. We left on the bus at 9 am. Our group had four members including a frustrated Liz, our parent helper. When we got there, there was a strong breeze.

First we went on a walk about in the interesting museum. When we were just wondering around a corner we saw a horrifying sight- an ancient mummy with ugly photos of its feet! We hurried on after that. At 11 am we went back to have some morning tea.

After a bit of fresh air we went to Fred and Myrtle's Paua house. We split into two groups and the girls went and watched a movie about the house. After that we went in to the house and looked for objects like a puffer fish lamp. When we finished we went outside for lunch.

Later we went inside for an oral history lesson with Anthony. He gave us an activity to put the meanings of myth, traditional story and legend in order. Next he told us three traditional stories and let us have a look around that place. Then we went out to collect our gear and go home. What a great day!
